Marsh & McLennan Agency, a Michigan Health & Benefits Practice, is implementing strategies to improve the health and well-being of their employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. Marsh & McLennan Agency has a multi-generational workforce with different job responsibilities, professional needs, and social dynamics. To that end, leadership has taken a multi-component approach to showing compassion for employees to help them remain resilient during this pandemic.
Communication is key to keeping work relationships strong. A private Facebook group was established to help employees connect on a personal level while working from home. Leadership organizes weekly department and all-staff Zoom meetings so everyone can frequently touch base.
An active social committee provides a weekly menu of activities and daily themes including virtual BINGO, coffee hours and happy hours, crazy sock day, share pictures of your new co–workers (family members, pets), and more.
Marsh & McLennan’s Vice President of Culture and Well–being also launched a resiliency podcast series for employees and their client community.
A “Feed the Frontlines” fundraising effort was organized to help employees feel a strong sense of purpose while working from home.
Employee health and well-being should be a priority for every organization at this time. Marsh & McLennan Agency recognizes this and is consistently encouraging employees to take time off, schedule breaks, and flex their schedule around their family and caretaking needs.
